Building the hype meter is fairly easy as most attacks provide a small amount, as well as the 'Taunt' feature which can increase Hype by a larger amount, but waste the player's turn and open them up for extra damage. This provides bonuses for end-game rewards as well as allows access to certain 'Gimmicks' that are stronger than the normal ones. Throughout a match, characters will also be building Hype in a meter at the bottom of the screen.
